    Rumblejetts Sign On For Draft Day Fun At Ice Sports

    Ice Sports Arena of Kansas City announced today that local band The Rumblejetts have been added to the lineup for Saturday’s National Hockey League Fan Celebration presented by NHL 21.

    The Rumblejetts will be entertaining fans from 1:00-to-3:00 p.m. in the main lobby area of the arena. Their unique brand of entertainment is sure to please fans from all ages.

    The Rumblejetts are from Kansas City and just recently returned home from Memphis, Tenn. where they recorded their new album, “Roostina”. This was their second appearance in the music city when last year they helped celebrate Rock and Roll’s 50 year anniversary and the release of Elvis Presley’s “It’s All Right Mama.”

    The band starts a midwestern tour in the middle of August, (Aug. 13-21) when they travel between Missouri,Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa.

    “These guys are terrific, said Ice Sports General Manager Dave Groulx. “They alone are worth the effort. We’ll be dancing all day long”

    Where: Ice Sports Arena of Kansas City located at 19900 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66216 (913) 441-3033. Ice Sports is an 800 seat arena in Johnson County that was the first premier arena built for youth hockey and family entertainment in Kansas City. Constructed in 1998, it is currently home to the Jr. Outlaws, Jr. Blades and Team Kansas youth hockey leagues. The arena was recently upgraded to wi-fi capability.

    Time: Noon

    Who: The Rumblejetts. A local Rockabilly Band that brings their unique sound to Ice Sports Arena. Check them out at www.rumblejetts.com. Also invited to appear, Ken Morrow, member of 1980 USA Olympic Gold Medal Hockey team that was the basis for the Walt Disney movie, “Miracle” that was released in 2004. Morrow also went on to star for the New York Islanders in the 80’s. He was the first American to win a Stanley Cup and Gold Medal in the same year (1980).

    Family Prizes/Games: There will be plenty of prizes and games throughout the day, including inflatable toys for the kids. NHL 21 is lead by local businessman Paul McGannon who's vision is to bring the National Hockey League to Kansas City within the 21st century. He is the promoter of this year's exhibition game on Sat. Sept. 24th at 7:35 p.m. at Kemper Arena, St. Louis Blues vs. Nashville Predators.
